Wall-Demo 3.0 by David A. Anstey ***copyright D.A.Anstey***

Wall-Demo is a small utility which will allow you to use your
Windows wallpaper as a presentation program. Of course it
doesn't have the features of MS-PowerPoint but then again it is
only an 8 K program.
How does it work? Simple, Wall-Demo will load Windows BMP files
into your Windows wallpaper. Further, it will let you write a
script of BMP files so that you can quickly change the bitmap
that you are displaying. You could use the program to give a
short presentation or just to quickly display wallpaper.
The program will let you advance 1 BMP, go back 1 BMP or advance
to the start or end of your slide show.
Wall-Demo has no slide making tools but a program like
Paintbrush will suffice in making BMPs.
Installation:
Wall-Demo must be installed in the following directory
c:\walldemo
unzip the file walldemo.zip into this directory. Note there is
one BMP file walldemo.bmp which must remain in this
directory else the program will not load.
Running Wall-Demo:
The file walldemo.exe is the main executable for this program.
Wall-Demo was written in Visual Basic 3.0 and requires the VB
Run Library vbrun300.dll
Either make an Icon for this file or in Program Manager select
File:/Run: c:\walldemo\walldemo.exe
Minimize or close all other programs. On startup you will
notice that your wallpaper has now changed and that there is a
command bar in the lower right corner of your screen. To edit
your BMP Script push the
Setup button
A Wall-Demo Setup screen will pop up. In the file list click on
a BMP file (note Wallpaper will display the BMP). If you wish
to include this BMP file click the
Accept button
If you wish to have further BMPs select them in the file list
and continue to push the Accept button.
When you have selected all the BMPs you need, position the
Wall-Demo setup program such that the red dot in the lower left
corner is in the position where you would like the Upper Left
Corner of Wall-Demo Button Bar to be. (Note, this strange but
simple procedure is the easiest way I could figure to configure
the program for all different screen sizes). Once positioned
select the Save Button.
* It is possible to set up Wall-Demo so that it runs offscreen.
If this problem occurrs reset the program by executing the
Walsetup program (c:\walldemo\walsetup.exe) directly and
changing the position until the button bar is visible.
If you wish to make a correction in your set-up push the
Redo button
Otherwise select the
Exit button to return to Wall-Demo 3.0
The remaining Wall-Demo 3.0 buttons are self explanatory.
Begin button (Return to start of presentation)
End Button (Go to end of presentation)
Play back (Go back to previous BMP)
Play forward (Advance ahead one BMP)
Exit (Exit program)
Note, your last Presentation script will be saved in a file
c:\walldemo\bmpfiles.dat
If you would like to keep this particular presentation, open
this file in Notepad and save it as something else. You will
then have to recopy this file back to c:\walldemo\bmpfiles.dat .
Wall-Demo is free. This program can be distributed freely
provided the following conditions are met:
a) This file README.TXT and the original WALLDEMO.BMP and
BMPFILES.DAT files are distributed along with the program under
their original names.
b) No charge is made for the program, the media (including 3
1/2, 5 1/4 " diskettes or CD-ROM), or preparation fee (including
a disk stamping fee).
c) No form of advertising can be appended to the program or it's
related files. Further, the program can not be distributed on a
floppy disk, CD-ROM or other media which includes advertising in
any form.
**Note** I am interested in knowing how many people will
actually download this program, where they obtained it from, and
how they end up using it. If you send e-mail with your name,
e-mail address, and some demographics (you decide what is my
business) I would be thankul and will e-mail you any further
changes to the program.
